The next morning marked Day 16, another eventful one. I woke up first and finished the Power of Habit, a very solid read. After the others got up, we packed up the campsite and went back to Zion. We decided to hike the Narrows, ranked fifth on National Geographic's list of best adventures. I fell fast asleep on the shuttle ride all the way to the last stop of Zion, like pretty sure I started drooling at one point. We began the trek to the narrows, which is mainly a hike through water. We were the only people we could find that had open toed shoes on. This was clearly a mistake, as the floor of narrows, the beginning of the Virgin River, was covered in rocks. Connor and Danny wore Chacos which they kept on, but Mark and I wore flip flops, which we took off because they were awful to walk in. We walked along the river for quite some time, and of course were in love with the views despite the pain. I went swimming in some of the deeper parts, and made another balanced rock when we got back to the beginning of the trail. After the narrows at Zion, we all went to Cafe Soleil and I just ate some turkey sandwiches and apples because I was too cheap. Then we began the drive to Moab, with Danny starting off. It was a decent drive, nothing too memorable though. Connor finished off to Moab, where we were met with the situation where we did not know where we would sleep. This was a common occurrence for us. My mom had told me that she would be comfortable paying for a hotel, so I gave her a ring and she said to go right ahead. It was nice to be back in a room again, and we decided to go hit the town. We found some solid shirts and souvenirs in this one shop for a decent price, so we had to splurge for ourselves and family. We went back to the hotel and showered and then enjoyed the break from sleeping on the ground.
