The next morning, Day 12, after a long night of rest, we got adjusted to the house. We got the dead rat out of the pool, cleaned it a little, then went to Bruegger's to get some bagels. We stopped by two of Mark’s old family friends homes, but neither were there. Then we went to Del Mar, a very beautiful beach. There was not a lot of people close to our age where we were set up, but then Mark Connor and I took a little walk. They played spikeball with this guy who was raised a couple blocks down from where I grew up. We also discovered there was a nice sized group of pretty females not too far away. After a quick move, we were in striking position. We went out into the water and just played around with a football and of course these girls were interested in Connor and I. For at least half an hour they were swimming around 10 feet away from us, yet once more we did not make a move. They retreated back to their group of 10 and then a move would have been a suicide mission. Once more we were unsuccessful, and the arrogance of Mark and Danny was encroaching on my last nerve. We returned to the car to find a ticket for $43, because Danny moved our car into the 20 minute parking. We went back to the house and relaxed in the hot tub before we walked over and met Uncle Phil and Aunt Jeanine. They were so generous and made us feel at home as we had a genuine talk with them about our trip and some of their experiences. After a nice conversation with them, we went and ate at Rubio's, a San Diego version of Chipotle, yet much better. Then we set out to Pacific Beach, which had a nice boardwalk yet everything was closed. There was also a pretty cool amusement park right by the water so we had to take advantage of that. One ride on this rollercoaster was $6, and it actually was pretty sweet. Definitely a little more trashy than Del Mar, but still a nice little spot nonetheless. On this night I gave Danny $100 to cover for the GoPro, and he used this to buy a surfboard. Some fun stuff.
